After escaping the Locker, the Black Pearl sailed for Shipwreck Cove, led by both Jack and the resurrected Barbossa, where it became the flagship of the Brethren Court's armada in the fight against Cutler Beckett's Armada. However, after Jack liberated a cargo of slaves, Beckett ordered the Wench set alight and sunk and her captain forever branded as a pirate. Sparrow led the crew on several voyages from West Africa to the Caribbean and back on behalf of the Company. Through unknown circumstances, the Wench became a merchant vessel for the East India Trading Company, where she was given to Jack Sparrow by Cutler Beckett.
